For our Tantalus community work days, residents and friends turn out quarterly to help maintain our mountain neighborhood. Volunteers help pick up litter, cut sight lines on blind corners, and haul up junk that has been dumped.

All of our efforts have kept the mountain to continue to be the real jewel that it is just a stone’s throw from urban Honolulu.

The City and County has been most cooperative in pitching in and taking away large pieces of debris the same day its hauled out.  By the end of community work day, the mountain looks neat and groomed. The free lunch alone is reason enough to turn out for work day — to share good food for the common good for the mountain.
